The given line graph compares the number of tourists traveling to three territories in a European country during 20 years, starting from 1987.
From an overall perspective, it can be seen that all areas experienced an upward trend with some wild fluctuations in the number of visitors except the lakes which saw a decrease by the end of the period.
In detail, at the beginning of the year, the coastal area started its downward trend at 40,000 reaching about 36,000 before seeing an increase of 24,000 in the year 2000. It continued rising until it reached its peak of 75,000. The number of visitors to the lakes was the lowest with 10,000 in 1987. However, it rose dramatically in the following 15 years, peaking at 75,000 before having a decline of 25,000.
Interestingly, the figures for the mountains’ attractors fluctuated throughout the period. At first, the number of tourists to the mountains was 20,000, having a growth of approximately 9000 in 1989 before returning to its starting point in the next 6 years. There was an increase in the proportion of mountain tourists, rising from 20000 to around 35000 in 1990. Despite the next decline of 5000, it culminated at 35000 in the final year.
