This graph shows a time series representation of newly opened shops versus closed shops throughout 8 years. The highest number of opened shops was around 8500 shops in 2011, which drastically decreased to nearly 4000 in 2012. The lowest number of opened shops was around 3000 shops in 2018.

As for the number of closed shops, it has not seen too much fluctuation from 2011 to 2014 where it ranged from 6000 to 7000. In 2015, a suden decrease of the number of closed shops happened to reach 600 shops aproximately. After that, the trend returned to stabilize around 5000 closed shops per year from 2016 till 2018.

The break even point happened in 2014 when the number of closed shops nearly equalized the number of newly opened shop. However, the next year witnessed the biggest difference between those two numbers.
