Overall, a positive trend can be seen. The total chart rose up from 1 million visitors in 2010, finishing at 3.5 million by 2017. The quantity of tourists experienced a remarkable jump in 2017, growing up for 1.5 million by comparing with the previous year.
The category “visitors staying on cruise ships” at the very beegining (2010-2012 period) was fluctuating in range between a half and a quater of million. A little bit later, in 2012 a figure started increasing and reached 1 million of tourists by 2014 and 2 million by 2017.
When it comes to the visitors staying on cruise ships, during first two years (2010-2011) graph remained stable at the point of about 0.75 million. In 2011 the values of two categories (staying on cruise ships and staying on island) had minimal differences. Then, the “cruise” variant witnessed a rapid climb up to 1.5 million by 2013, and then remaind the same for two years. Thereafter, figure slightly dropped to 1.25 million, leaving the first place to another category in 2016. Then, chart returned to 1.5 million.
