Looking from an overall perspective, the total number of visitors and the number of those who stayed on a cruise ships witnessed an upward trend, with the reverse was true for tourists who preferred staying on island. The total number of tourists kept its dominance by the end of the period, while the figure for visitors stayed on island became the lowest of all.
Looking at the overall count of tourists first, 1 million people visited the island at the beginning of the span. The figure kept increasing before remaining the same (around 2.7 mln) from 2015 to 2016. Then it gradually moved upward to 3.5 million visitors, remaining the highest figure. The quantity of travelers accommodated on cruise ships stood at approximately 0.7 in 2010, and remained unaltered for a year. After increasing to 1.5 million, it remained unchanged again for three years, and with a single decline the figure again stood at 1.5 and became the lowest, replacing the number of tourists stayed on the island. Finally, visitors who didn’t leave the island accounted for 0.3 million in 2010. Before increasing gradually, the figure for these tourists witnessed several fluctuations. By the end of the timeframe it stood at 2 million, became the second highest.
