The chart below depicts the number of annual tourists to three museums during the period of 6 years starting from 2000. The unit is denoted by millions.
As can be seen from the graph, the National Museum of China saw an upward trend in visitors while the other two museums observed a variation over the years. However, the number of people who visited the place in Edo-Tokyo remained at the same highest figure for two consecutive years 2000 and 2001.
In terms of visitors to MET in New York, the number of tourists started from 12 in 2000 then dropped to approximately 6 in both 2001 and 2002 before it rose gradually until it reached a peak at more than 14 in 2005. In addition, the figure for Edo-Tokyo visitors reached the highest point of just over 13 in 2000 and 2001 before it declined noticeably to the lowest point of more than 6 in 2003 then witnessed a slight increase until 2005.
On the other hand, it is clear that there was a considerable growth in visitations to the National Museum in China from 6 in 2000 to just over 11 in 2003 when it remained the same number for 2004 then it grew dramatically to nearly 16 in 2005.
