Overall, most of visitors who came from the UK was coming for holiday purposes. Meanwhile, other two types namely; business and meeting friends or relatives aims, rose steadily, the number of visitors who came because of holiday, increased significantly.

The proportion of visitors with holidays aims was at the top almost whole period, in compare with other two reasons to come to the UK. In 1994, it reached its peak at 9 million visitors and had similarly result in 2009. Before it has reached its highest point, it has decreased sharply and fell to 6.5 million visitors.

Despite, the lowest figure whole the period, meeting friends section became more popular and the proportion sharply rose. Meanwhile, meeting purposes was in the lowest point, the business had higher figures and was in the second place. It has reached its peak at 8 million visitors somewhere between 2004 and 2009. After which it declined and fell to 7 million by 2009.
