The line graph illustrates the percentage of Australia’s export business with four other countries: China, Japan, the US, and India. The timeline spans from 1990 to 2012.
Overall, not every country maintained a constant relationship in exporting with Australia, except for China. The remaining countries dramatically decreased over the period.
China, starting with only 2% of exports, rose to over 10% in the period after 2000. Thereafter, its business with Australia continued to increase, reaching the highest exporter position with 30% over the trend. Similarly, Japan, with 27% of business in 1990, was the highest exporter to Australia. Despite this, its exports continued to decrease over the timeline, placing it in second position in 2012 with nearly 17%.
The US, starting with approximately 13%, maintained a good percentage with Australia. Nevertheless, it showed some fluctuations and inconsistency until 2012. Likewise, India, from the beginning to the end, never maintained a good business relationship with Australia in exporting. Yet, it surpassed the US in 2010 with a percentage of approximately 7%.
