The bar chart describes the percentage of household wealth that can access refrigerator, electricity, and water in Ghana, from 1991/1992 to 1998/1999.
The percentages of poor Ghanaians people accessed refrigerator and electricity decreased between the two period. 11% of them bought refrigerator in 19991/1992, but, the number fell to 7% in the following period. Similarly as electricity, where 57% of them were able to use it in the first period, yet, it flopped to 48 % in 1998/999. Nonetheless, electricity was used by 48% of them, who were very poor, before falling to 34% in the following year. However, a lot non-poor Ghanaians were able to access refrigerator and electricity, and the proportioned increased in the two period. At first 24% and 73% of them were able to access refrigerator and electricity, respectively, before sky-rocketing to 37% and 85% in the following period.
The proportion of Ghanian able to use water was quite similar for each wealth status for both period of time. In 1991/1992, water was consumed by 55% of very poor Ghanaian and 76% of non-poor people. The number then slightly increased for both categories, where it reached 57% and 80%, respectively. Nevertheless, the percentages of very poor people bought refrigerator and poor people consumed water stayed the same for the entire period, where refrigerator was bought by 3% of them, while water was used by 69% of them.
Overall, similar trend was found throughout the entire period, where the percentage of non-poor Ghanaians accessed refrigerator, electricity, and water was relatively higher compared to poor and very poor Ghanaians. In addition, the percentage of very poor people had refrigerator and poor people accessed water stayed the same throughout the entire period.
