The table below illustartes the percentage of unemployment in 9 various countries over the period 1994 to 2004.
In 1994 a conciderable proportion of the Irish population (14.8%) was unemployed. Since 1994, the percentage has decreased dramatically. Prior 2004 it witnessed a noticable drop to 4.4 percent.
In contrast, In Japan the rate of unemployment was minuscule (2.7%), but later it slightly increased. Looking on the table we can notice that the percent rose 2 times and became 4.7%.
In Australia nothing really changed from in these 10 years. In 1994 there was only 5% of unemployed people. However, over the decade the percentage increased only in 0.4%.
Overall what stands out is that various countries had completely different percentage of unemployment over the period 1994 to 2004. For instance, in Ireland the figure declined considerably whereas we can see less changes in such states as Japan (the percentage rose 2 times) and Australia (the percentage was almost the same).
