The line graph demonstrates the number of people visiting GYM once a month or more from 1984 to 2003
From an overall perspective, it is evident that the percentage of people who were in the 18 – 25 age group showed an upward trend, whereas a reverse pattern could be observed in the figures for ages 46 to 65.
In 1984, the percentage of people who were 26-45 years old visiting GYM was highest, at 30%, which was six times as high as the figure for people who were over 65 years old. The proportions of individuals who were 18-25 years old and 46-65 years old coming to the GYM once a month or more were 15% and 25%, respectively.
In the following years, the number of individuals who were 18-25 years old increased significantly by 60% to 75%. There were remarkable increases of approximately 30% to 40% in 1989, then decreased to 35% in 1994, after dramatically rising to 60% in 2003. The percentage of people who were over 65 years old increased significantly to 10% in 1994, then fell to 7% in 1999 before growing up to 20% in 2003. By contrast, the figure for those aged from 46 to 65 who saw a witness decreased to 15% in 2003, after increasing to 30% in 1989.
