In 1997, the proportion of households with a CD player stood at 60%, and the figure increased to 70% in 1998 before remaining unchanged at this level in 1999. Towards the end of the timeframe, it saw a gradual rise to 80%, making it the highest percentage on the chart. As for the telephone, the proportion grew gradually, from 40% in 1997 to 70% in 2001. However, the percentage of households with a telephone remained stable at 20% between 1997 and 1998, doubling to 40% in 2000. Intriguingly, it then rose considerably to 75% by 2001.
The share of DVD player stood at 27% at the beginning of the period. Having decreased to 17%, the figure then recovered to 50% by 2001. Finally, the proportion of households with internet access increased sixfold, from 10% to 60% by 2001.
