This bar chart demonstrated the percentafe of self employed workers of the total workforce in different countries in 1998 and 2008.
In 1998, the Russian Republic present around 5% of independent workers; whereas 10 years later, a slight increase of 2% was seen. Similarly, in Slovakia, an overall increase was present after 10 years. Whilst the percentage of workers were lower than 10% during 1998, itreached over 10% in 2008. Likewise, in 2008, Czech Republic had a higher percentage of freelancers 10 years later when compared to 2008. Therefore, it can be concluded that a positicve trend is determined when analyzing the changes in the workforce in the Russian Republic, Slovakia, and Czech Republic.
However, in Greece, the valuesof self employed individuals were higher in 1998 when compared to 2008. They decreased from around 42% to 35%. Additionally, Turkey showed a similar trend. While the percentages were above 50%, there was a decrease to 40% in 2008, presenting a negative corrolation in comparison to the other countries.
Overall, Turkey recorded the highest change in freelancers between the two years, as well as the highest percentage of self employed workers. It is also important to note that the Russian Republic had the lowest values for both years, resulting in minimal change.
