The graph illustrates how urban/suburban and rural households in a specific country access the internet from 2011 to 2016. Internet subscribers increased in both urban and rural households, shown in percentage over the period under review.
Every year urban households access the internet more than rural households. In 2011, urban households were 15%. The following year, that number reached doubled times the previous year. This was the peak percentages for urban households. 2013 and 2014 years were increased by 10% percentages and reached 40 and 50 percent, respectively. The last 2 years increased has decreased hugely and it was only a 2% percentage increase.
On the other hand, rural households started almost 0 in 2011. But it was linearly increasing from 2011 to 2014, when it reached 15%. In the last 3 years rural areas showed the peak level of increasing. In the end, in 2016 the percentage was and more than rural households still could not reach internet access.
In summary, while urban households consistently maintained higher levels of internet access, rural areas showed notable improvement.
