The line chart illustrates the amount of different species of wild birds in the United Kingdom from 1970 to 2004.
Overall, from 1970 to 2004, all species experienced a steady population growth. But there was a consistent increase in Coastal species through the periods. In contrast, the amount of Farmland species dropped significantly.
In detail, Woodland species used to be the largest bird population in 1970-1973, growing by 10%, but it constantly decreased right after that period and was overtook by Coastal species which also surpassed three other species up until 2004, increased by more than 30% compared to 1970. Meanwhile, Farmland species was constantly declining from 1978 until 2004. It experienced a negative growth of almost 50% down.
Moreover, it can be seen that all species once had a slight growth of population 7 years later after 1970, then it continued to grow steadily ever since although sometimes it also went down or up, but not significantly.
