Overall, the population of both countries was and will be above 1 billion people. What is more, China started at the higher point in 2005 than India; however, it will have ended up India having bigger population by 2050.
Going back to the details, China’s and India’s population started at the point of 1.3 billion and 1 billion people, respectively. The population of India started to rise steadily, reaching roughly 1.4 billion in 2025. However, the population of China started to upsurge moderately, going up to the point of approximately 1.45 billion in 2025. Consequently, 2030 will be the year when the populations will be equal with barely 1.45 billion. After that year, China’s population will plummet slightly to 1.4 billion which is the same as in 2015. On the contrary, India’s population will continue to climb, hitting its peak in 2050 at 1.6 billion people.
