The graph shows changes in the population of India and China for the 5 decades, from the year 2000 to estimated growth projection in population in 2050. The X axis of the graph represents years from 2000 to 2050 whereas the Y axis represents total population in billions ranging from 1000 billions to 1700. Population growth lines are indicated via square and circle for India and China respectively.

In the year 2000, China had more population estimated around 1250 billion as compared to 1000 billions of indian population. Both countries’ population growth keeps increasing until 2024 and it is estimated to keep growing until 2030 where both countries will have an equal population increase that is estimated around 1450 billion. China has more population than India however, the rate at which India’s population is increasing is higher than China’s which means it is increasing rapidly. After the year 2030, China’s population is estimated to decrease at a moderate rate and become lower than 1400 billion by the year 20250 which means China might be working and aims to take measures on population growth control and management. However, from the year 2030 to 2050, India’s population projection is expected to increase at the same rate it has been increasing before the year 2025.

This chart shows that India needs to start working on population growth control and take effective measures by running campaigns, or starting some countrywide goal oriented initiatives. Because the rate at which the Indian population is increasing, soon there will be adverse effects and India must still be facing that.
