The illustrated graph represents the information of transported goods in the UK between 1974 and 2002 by using different modes of transportation. Overall, it is obvious that most of the goods were transported using road in 1974.
In 1974, very few about of goods transported by using pipeline. However it’s number is slightly increased in 1978 and about 5 million of goods transported. Later in 2002, approximately 20 million tones of goods were transported. Similarly, Railway was the most common method to carry goods in UK. At the first time, in 1978, approximately 40 millions of goods were send to the UK. In contrast, railway was not effective with the increment of years. Later, only few amount of products were transported using Railway.
Further more road transportation was the most effective means of transportation to carry goods. At first, in 1978, approximately 66 million tons of material were sent to the UK. Later, most of the people used road. So, in 2002 100 million tons of goods were transported
