Overall, the proportion of all business sizes using social media showed an upward trend throughout the five-year period. Large business consistently had the highest level of social media presence, while small businesses showed the most significant growth.
In 2012, small and medium businesses had the lowest social media engagement at around 30%, compared to approximately 80% for large businesses. By 2013, small and large businesses showed a stable trend at 30% and nearly 80% respectively, whereas there was a notable increase in medium business to 50%.
From 2014 onwards, large and medium businesses remained unchanged at nearly 80% and 50%, however small business ascended slightly to 35%. In the following year, all three businesses recorded a considerable decrease, small and medium businesses declined to 30%, large business to 52%. Despite this downward trend, there was a dramatic increase in all three businesses, the former to 50%, the latter to 52%, and the latest one to 80%.
