The time graph illustrates the sales of children’s books, adult fiction, and educational books in a country from the year 2002 to 2006. It is clearly visible that the demand for children’s books showed an upward trend during that period, while the demand for other books fluctuated.
In the year 2002, the demand for adult fiction was at its peak; almost 45 million dollars worth of fiction was sold. However, the demand diminished sharply throughout the year, while sales of children’s books and educational books showed an upward trend. Over the next three years, sales of children’s books surpassed the others and remained on a slightly upward trend during the period. On the other hand, the demand for adult fiction and educational books fluctuated somewhat. In the year 2005, sales of educational books increased steadily, surpassing adult fiction, which was less in demand than the others, and children’s books reached the highest sales, valued at almost 55 million dollars.
To summarise, adult fiction was most in demand at the start of the period, but it lost its appeal by the end of the period and was surpassed by children’s books and educational books.
