The chart illustrates the carbon emissions from three kinds of fossil fuels in the UK from 1990 to 2010.
Overall, there was an increase in the figure of emission from gas; meanwhile, a decrease was seen in the case of discharge from oil and coal. Initially, gas release witnessed the lowest figures, but it eventually became the highest by the conclusion of the period.
In 1990, coal emission peaked on the chart with approximately 300 million tons, followed by oil and gas discharge with around 270 and 220, respectively. Over the next five years, coal witnessed a slight variation, while the amount of gas increased by over 100 million tons, surpassing those of oil release.
From 2000 to 2010, coal and oil both experienced a decline of roughly 100. In contrast, there was a notable change in gas emission, increasing to around 300 by the end of the examined period. It surpassed the amount of oil discharge, culminating in the highest overall count.
