The given bar chart illustrates the amount of carbon emissions from three fossil fuels in Britain in the period of 20 years from 1990 to 2010.
Overall, the chart showed an upward trend in the number of tons in gas emissions, while the number of emitted coal experienced a downward tendency throughout the whole period. Besides, oil has some fluctuations in quantity.
As it is shown in the graph, gas only generated more than 200 million tons in 1990 which is the lowest on out of all, then the number of emissions constantly rose during the given period and reached its peak at about 325 million tons in 2010. On the other hand, the amount of coal emissions was at its highest point of approximately 310M tons and then rapidly dropped to only about 180M tons in 2010 being the lowest one compared to the other.
It can easily be noticed that the quantity of oil emissions fluctuated over a 20-year period. It started with about 275M in 1990 then decreased to 245M in 1995 before climbed to 260M in 2000. However, a significant fall appeared in the next 10 years, declining the quantity from 260M in 2000 to below 200M in 2010.
