The line graph below details how six different countries used renewable energy between 1971 and 2006.
Overall, most countries show rises throughout the period, while Finland was the only exceptional with a slight decrease. Despite this decline, Finland kept its the highest position over the period, yet UK represented the lowest figure, in spite of the gradual increase.
Looking at the figures for Finland (25%), which was the highest trend in this diagram, its figures exhibited a dramatic drop in 1986 after visible fluctuations, as well as Denmark (15%) and Germany (5%), which showed a slight decrease as well. While the usage of renewable energy slightly exceeded in the UK and the USA, reaching roughly 2% and 3%, France had the same percentage as at the beginning of the period, at about 7%.
After 1986, the concept of renewable energy started expanding and the usage started expanding in all nations. In France usage this method represented the highest percentage in 2011, at about 23%, followed by Denmark (nearly 17%), with some remarkable fluctuations, while in other nations, the figure rose gradually without any slight declines until 2011. While France and Germany had similar percentages, with about 14% and 13%, in turn, the USA showed about 11%. The UK remained its the lowest position, with roughly 6%.
