It is clear from the graph that acid rain emissions reduced over the period shown. Overall, the most significant decline can be seen in Electricity, Gas and Water Supply sector. Domestic sector and other industries experienced a slight decline in emissions, while figures for Transport and communication sector fluctuated during the 17 years and by 2007 accounted for the same number of emissions as it was at the beginning of the given period.
In 1990, emissions from Transport and communication and Domestic sectors constituted about 0.75 million tones, whereas Electricity, Gas and Water Supply sector alongside with other industries accounted for the major part of produced gases, producing 3.3 and 2.1 million tones respectively.
By 2007, emissions coming from
Electricity, Gas and Water Supply sector declined by almost 3 times and constituted about 1.5 million tones, whereas Domestic sector and other industries reduced emissions by nearly a half accounting for 0.5 and 1.25 million tones respectively. Meanwhile, from 1990 onwards emissions produced by Transport and communication sector fluctuated between 0.75 and 1 million tones, reaching its highest in 2004-2005, after which they dropped back to 0.75 million tones in 2007.
