The line chart illustrates the selling number of three different music formats between 1994 and 2006. In overall, it is clear to see the downward trend in CDS and cassettes sales, while the digital music which transaction increased dramatically became the most preferred formats of music.
CDS and cassettes started the period with the similar numbers of sales. CDS began with the most selling in 1994, approximately 400 millions, rose sharply to 800 millions sales in 2000 before plummeting to its lowest point of 300 millions in 2006. The transaction of cassettes decreased moderately from 1994 to 2000, then levelled off at zero in the end of period.
In the other hand, digital music’s figure experienced significant change. Digital music initially attracted the smallest audience but saw the dramatic surge in three year, culminating in a peak of almost 800 millions, surpassing the other music formats.
