Overall, the amount of oil production tended to increase during the whole period. The figures for Saudi Arabia were significantly higher than in the other countries, while production of oil in Qatar exhibited the lowest figures throughout the period.
Delving into details, the amount of oil production in Saudi Arabia saw a noticeable increase throughout, starting at just over 8 million barrels per day, and this rose steadily, reaching a high pick of over 14 million barrels per day in the final year. In contrast, the smallest producer Qatar, started the period with around 1 million barrels, a figure that then went up slightly to 1,3 before leveling off at 1 million barrels per day for the rest of the period.
Looking at the other categories in detail, the figure for oil production in Iran witnessed a gradual increase from 3 in 1990 to just above 4 million in 2010. Moreover, the other three producers experienced a similar upward trend and reached over 4 million barrels by the end, whereas production did not increase in 2000 in the UAE.
