The bar chart illustrates the usage of internet among different age groups in Taiwan from the year 1998 to 2000. The data is presented in percentages and the subjects are divided into four age category: children aged less than fifteen, teenage to early adults aged sixteen to thirty, adults aged thirty one to fifty, and senior citizen aged fifty and above.
Among the three years, it is evident that teenage to early adults uses Internet the most. Meanwhile, children less than fifteen uses Internet least among the four groups. Following teenage to early adults, adults aged thirty one to fifty comes second and senior citizen comes third on internet usage in Taiwan. This trend stays the same for the three year.
The percentage of internet usage among children rose from 1998 to 2000. It was 2% in 1998, 8% in 1999, and 9% in 2000. Same goes to percentage of usage among elderly, in which it rose from 4% in 1998 to 8% in 1999, and ultimately reach 10% in 2000. However, percentage of internet usage among teenage to early adults and adults aged thirty one to fifty years old decreased. Percentage of usage among teenage to early adult was 53% in 1998, then it drops by 8% in 1999, and drop again by 1% in 2000, reaching the lowest percentage 44%. Moreover, percentage of usage among adults aged thirty one to fifty years old was 41% in 1998, then dropped to 39% in 1999, and lastly 37% in 2000.
