The supplied bar graph illustrates information about the number of marriage and divorce rates in America over the three decades and the marital status of adult Americans from 1970 and 2000.
Overall, it can be seen that the number of marriages rate was highest by far throughout the entire period while, the figure of divorces rate experienced a slight fluctuations and remained the lowest for thirty years period. However, the marital status of adult Americans of married people accounted for the highest in two of the years.
Based on the first chart, the number of divorce rates in the United States of America started at just around 1 millions in 1970. The figure then rose steadily to just under 1.5 million in 1980, before falling to around 1 millions in 2000 same as in the beginning of the year. Although, the number of marriages rate was the highest for all the period than divorces, it remained stable for 10 years,and started to decline to almost 2 millions for the last few years.
Regarding the second graph, the proportion of adults who are married displayed the highest percentage to around 70% in 1970 and 60% in 2000, which was over the quintuble than of the widowed and divorced people. In 1970, the percentage of divorced people exibited the lowest while, marriage showed the highest. Furthermore, in 2000, the proportion of widowed experianced lowest while, married was the highest.
