The presented graph compares the figures of people visiting six different art galleries in 2011.
Overall, the number of visitors to the Louvre museum in France was considerably higher than for any other museum. The Metropolitan museum in the USA and the British museum in the UK were ranked as the second popular destination for visitors. Meanwhile, the National museum of Korea, the Museo del Prado of Spain and the State Hermitage in Russia attracted much less people in the same year.
In 2011, around 9 million people participated in visiting the Louvre museum, which was 3 million more than those visiting the Metropolitan museum or the British museum. Although the Metropolitan museum records 6 million participant, it is just slightly more than for the British museum.
In contrast, the rates for other three art galleries, the National museum, the Museo del Prado and the State Hermitage, were significantly lower compared to that of the Louvre museum, reaching roughly 3 million for each, which is just a third of that of the Louvre museum.
