Task 1
The graph shows the percentage of UK teenagers who followed a vegetarian diet from 1960 to 2020.The trend changed several times over the years.
In 1960,only about 5% of teenagers were vegetarians. The percentage increased steadily over the next two decades, reaching a peak of around 15% in the early 1980s. However, after this peak the percentage dropped sharply in the late 1980s and early 1990s,falling back to approximately 5%. It increased at some points and then decreased again, showing an irregular trend. This means that while some teenagers adopted a vegetarian diet, others may have stopped following it.
In the early 2000s,the number of vegetarian teenagers started to rise again, but more slowly.By 2020 about 10% of Uk teenagers were following a vegetarian diet.
Overall, the graph shows that vegetarianism between UK teenagers has changed a lot over time.It became popular in the 1980s,then lost popularity 1990s,but has started to grow again in recent years.
