The Line chart compares the recycling rates for paper & cardboard, glass containers, Alumininum and plastics from 1982-2010.

Overall paper & cardboard and glass containers were recycled more as compared to Almuninum and plastic materials. However though Almuninum and plastic were least recycled, there was a progress raise in recycling of Almuninum towards the end year period.

Initially in 1982 between 50% to less than 70% of glass containers and paper &cardboard were recycled respectively. This rate of recycling made a downward trend of 5%-10% drop in the 1990s for both materials. Then they picked up the rate of recycling in which paper &cardboard were recycled most at the highest rate of 80% in 1994 but from then on gradually decreasing in the to 70% by the end of the period. Glass containers however its rate of recycling steadily rose to 60% in 2010.

On the other hand Recycling of Almuninum only started in 1986 and plastic started later in 1990s. Almuninum was progressivly recycled over the period making an upward trend to almost 50% by 2010. Plastic however was recycled less than 10% overall over the years to 2010.
