The line graph illustrates the number of people participated in 3 different activities in the sports club located in the UK from 1983 to 2003.
Overall, the proportion of team sports and gym activities steadily increased with the latter becoming dominant at the end, while swimming had a dramatic decrease and became the least popular activity among the people of the UK.
In 1983, swimming had a lion’s share with having a half all participants, but it changed in ten years by halving this share to the quarter of the whole. The situation was different for the team sports, which had an almost constant increase from 33% to 38 which made it dominant. Gym activities had the least share which was less than a tenth. But the popularity of this activity increased and it had almost 20% of all participants by 1993.
Share of swimming became less that 20%, thanks to a further decrease and it did not change until the end. Team sports fluctuated from 1993 to 2003 and stayed as the dominant across 3 activities. Popularity of gym activities continued to rise to 25% and exceeded swimming and became the 2nd famous activity among the people of the UK.
