overall, There was an increase in the import of steel,however UK demand and UK production fell over times.
In 1970, Around 19 million tonnes of steel was demanded, and the demand of steel was reached 20 tonnes in 1980,however there was a slight rose in 1990 approximately 14 million tonnes ,which occured fluatuaction and remained constant around 13 million tonnes in 2000.In 1970, Uk production was around 17 million tonnes which fell 15 million tonnes in 1972, after that it rose again 2 million tonnes in 1974 around 17 million tonnes.Followed by that a continued flauctuation occured and reached 7 million tonnes in 2000.In 1970 the import was gradualy increased and achieved 5 million tonnes in 1980 ,then a sudden fell occured in1982 around 3 million tonnes, and from 1983 onward import climbed rapidly and reached 7 million tonnes in 2000.
In 1970 the number of workers in steel industry were 200, which dropped continuesly and slight fluatuaction happened in 1982,which declined steady over the period.
