The total number of overseas students have exponentially increased by about four times during the 10 years period. The biggest jump between student numbers was between 2008 and 2009 with an increase of around 15000 whereas, the lowest increase was seen during 2009 to 2010 with an increase of around 2000.
When it comest to the local students, an increase in the total number of students can be observed between the years of 2001 until 2007. This increase was followed by a stagnation in the following years. In contrast, the number of the commencing local students have been fluctuating from 2001 to 2010 with highs and lows. The stark increase as well as the peak number was observed between the years of 2001 and 2002 following by a trend of gradual decrease.
