The bar graph illustrates the proportion of jobs of males and females of 60–64 age group across various countries like Australia, Japan, USA, and Belgium, surveyed in the years 1970 and 2000.
Overall, in 1970 the office is equally shared by both senior men and women. In contrast, the year 2000 shows much of the preference is given for men, especially in Belgium.
In particular, America employed elderly with 86% of men and 78% of women.In similar, Indonesia too had a 84% of men and 68% of women. Both Belgium and Japan maintained a similar employment with only 2% of difference in men. In case of females, there is a 13% of variation in both the countries.
In contrast, the workforce of the year 2000 is mostly dominated by men. In numbers—USA has subtracted female workers by 33%, even though employing men above 85%. While for Japan it is 63% of male employees and 47% female employees. In the year of 2000, Belgium female workforce dipped to only 8% in 2000 where it is 63% in 1970 ,while the employment of older males is just affected by 8% over the 30 years.
