The graphs compare the different types of age groups and genders that bought different music albums in Great Britain. Overall, three types of music groups, including Rock music, Pop music and Classical music are selling well. Pop music and Rock music are popular with all age groups and genders however, only over 45 listening to Classical music.
Firstly, males buy more Pop music albums than females; the percentage of males buying Pop music is around 28%, while females around 15%. People aged 24–34 years old purchase slightly more than other age groups. Rock music buyers show similar percentages to Pop music.
In contrast, Classical music appeals more to older audiences. The 45+ age group accounts for the highest percentage, at about 20%. Purchases among the 2534 age group are slightly above 15%, while younger people 1624 show little interest, with figures below 5%. Males and females have similar purchasing rates for Classical music, both under 10%.
In summary, younger males dominate the Pop and Rock music markets, whereas Classical music attracts an older audience.
