The graph depicts the variation in the percentage of women and people aged 50 or above working in the UK workforce. The period taken into consideration is between 1971 and 2019.

It is evident that the percentage increased over time in both the cases. However, it was noticed that workers aged 50 or above were included only after the year 1990. Based on the proportion of the population of the United Kingdom, it can be understood that in the year 1971, 37% of women were working and it increased by 10% when seen in 2019.

The rise in the percentage of people aged 50 or above was only between the years 1990 to 2019, where the rise is from 21% to 32%. It is noticeable that the increase in percentage of both female employees and the employees aged 50 or more was gradual and stealthy. However, the percentage of women workers was more than that of the people aged 50 or above since 1971 and was still higher in 2019.
