The graphs below illustrate the aggregate percentage of films released and the combined percentage of ticket sales in 1996 and 2000 in a country. Overall, film production differed between the two years, while Romance remained the least popular genre among audiences.
Each genre had a different share. First of all, Drama accounted for 25% in 1996 and rose significantly to 35% in 2000. Comedy represented 20% in 1996 and increased to 25% in 2000. Fantasy was less popular in 1996 at around 10%, but it grew to approximately 15% in 2000. Finally, Romance remained the lowest at 5% in both years.
The overall percentages of cinema ticket sales were noticeably different. For example, in 1996, Comedy generated the highest sales at about 20%, while Romance accounted for only 5%.
