The line graph compares the number of participants involved in five different activities at a social centre in Melbourne, Australia, from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, the film club remained the most popular activity throughout the two decades, while table tennis saw the most dramatic increase. By contrast, amateur dramatics, which started relatively strong, experienced a sharp decline and became the least popular by 2020.
In the first decade, the number of participants in the film club declined slightly from around 65 in 2000 to just over 60 in 2010. A similar downward trend was seen in amateur dramatics, which dropped from nearly 30 to 20 participants. Meanwhile, martial arts fluctuated slightly around the 35-39 mark, and table tennis saw a modest increase from roughly 18 to 20. Musical performances, which were first introduced in 2005, reached about 10 participants by 2010.
From 2010 to 2020, table tennis experienced a sharp rise, climbing to approximately 55 participants and becoming the second most popular activity. Film club and martial arts continued with minor increases, reaching nearly 68 and 40 respectively. Musical performances also grew gradually, ending the period at around 18 participants.
