The illustrations demonstrate stages in the production of chocolate.
Overall, it is a 10 stage, man-made, linear process. It starts with picking up cacao pods, then they are dried on sunshine and finally be crushed and pressed to produce chocolate liquid.
First of all, workers gather grown ripe red pods from cacao trees and break them to get white cacao beans. After that, the gathered white beans are fermented on large tables, and placed on big wooden structures to dry on sun. After that point, the dried beans are picked up and packed in large sacks and being delivered to a factory by train or trucks.
Following that, the transported sacks with dried cacao beans are roasted in ovens by 350 celsius. Next, the roasted beans are located in giant chunks to crush them and to remove the outer shell from beans. Finally, the inner parts of beans are pressed to manufacture the chocolate liquid.
