When it comes to sodium, dinner is the major contributor, at 43%, followed by lunch at 29%. Breakfast and snack both make up 14%. A similar trend is seen in saturated fat, with dinner again taking the lead at 37%, and lunch accounting for 26% , snack and breakfast represent 21% and 16%.
Snacks contribute the largest share of added sugar which is 42%. Dinner and lunch contribute less significantly, at 23% and 19%. Breakfast still has the smallest share at just 16%, but breakfast contains the least of all three elements, which might be the healthiest meal of the day.
