The pie chart illustrates the amount of three different nutrients are eaten by the people of the USA in their daily meals, including breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.
Overall, it is clearly seen that, the largest proportion of sodium and saturated fat are consumed with dinner, while sugar is the most commonly used ingredient in snacks.
When it comes to sodium, dinner is the major contributor, at 43%, followed by lunch at 29%. Breakfast and snacks both account for 14%. A similar trend is seen in saturated fat, with dinner again taking the lead at 37%, and lunch makes up 26%. Breakfast and snacks both accounting for 21% and 16% respectively.
Now moving on to sugar, the biggest amount of this is used in snacks at 42%. Dinner and lunch contribute significantly less at 23% and 19% respectively. Breakfast has the smallest share at just 16%.
