In March 1993, the US started the period with 7.0 % unemployment rate as the highest one among the two countries. It depicted considerable fluctuations and reached its lowest point in around April 1998 and April 1999, which was nearly 4.8% of unemployment.
On the other hand, Japan rose from its lowest level of 2.5% in March 1993 to 5.0% in March 1999, showing a rapid increase. Its peak point of approximately 5.3% was recorded in around February 1998, whereas the US was also at the same level.
