The charts provide information about last-year’s criminal activity in the UK. The line graph illustrates the crime rate in different age groups, while the pie chart describes which types of illegal activity occurred the most.
Overall, it seems that young people between the ages of 12 and 28 break the law the most, and crime involving violence constitutes almost a half of all crimes committed in the UK last year.
As it can be observed in the line graph, crime rates start to grow rapidly from the age of 12 until the age of 20, where they peak across all age groups. After that, as people grow older they commit less crimes, as the said rate levels off between the ages of 28 and 60. This can be due to the fact that as people mature they understand the severe consequences of breaking the law better than teenagers. Now, turning to the most popular types of crime, the pie chart reveals that almost the same proportion of people are involved in drug-related activities and in property crime. The least common activity seems to be disobeying public order, which constitutes only 9%.
