The line graph illustrates the consumption of three kinds of fast food in Britain over two decades, between 1970 and 1990.
Overall, it is clear that there were upward trends in the amount of food consumed by those who ate two fast foods, hamburgers, and fish and chips, while a significant downward trend was observed in the number of people who consumed pizza.
Turning to the detail, it is clearly apparent that in 1970, hamburger was the least food that was consumed, at around 30 grams; the figure for fish and chips is twice as high, at 90 grams. The former fast food saw a substantial rise of 70 grams over the course of one and a half years, to 100 grams in 1985, which was followed by another sharp increase of 300 grams in 1990. As for fish, there was a notable growth to 150 grams in 1980, and then it grew rapidly to reach its highest point on the graph, 500 grams of consumption.
When it comes to pizza, in 1970 it was the most popular fast food, averaging 300 grams. However, its popularity dropped over time, especially in 1980, and then the amount of consumption remained stable until the end of the period.
