Overall, it is clear that the proportion of Indian students increased remarkably, whereas Colombia had the lowest figures over the period. In addition, students from Vietnam, Nepal, and Indonesia experienced moderate growth.
In 1980, India had around 600 students, which steadily rose to one-third of the total share the following two decades. From 2000, the figures surged constantly, remaining the largest share among others by the end of the period. About Vietnam, it also demonstrated a gradual rise, starting at 1000 students at the beginning, to approximately 4000 by 2010. Then, climbed dramatically to two-thirds over the decade.
In terms of others, Nepal and Colombia formed a similar pattern, beginning with no students. Both grew steadily until 2010, accounting for 2000 and 1000 learners, respectively. While Nepal soared to around 9000, Colombia remained relatively stable, just under 2000 by the end of the year. Indonesia, on the other hand, started at about 1000 and went up gradually, before comprising over 7000 international students by 2020.
