Overall, France was the most popular tourists’ destination over the period. Spain was less popular, but the number of visitors increased. Figure for Japan witnessed decline.
It is clear from the graph, that France experienced an increase, having started with around 45 million of tourists in 1990 and went up to just over than 80 by 2020. The number of people who visited Spain in 1990 was the smallest (approximately 30 millions). However, it rised dramatically and reached the peak of around 75 million of tourists in 2020.
The figure for Japan started at nearly 30 million of visitors and witnessed a slight rise by 2000. Nevertheless, it declined gradually over next 20 years and reached a low of about 34 million of tourists in 2020.
