In 2003, the figure for armed robbery started just below 3500 and reached its peak in 2004 with just over 3500 before dropping drastically to just above 1000 in 2008. By 2009, the number increased slightly to just below 1500 and stayed constant for the next three years.
On the other hand, assault cases began at just under 2500 in 2003 and consistently fluctuated between 2000 to 2500 crimes from 2004 to 2008. The number increased steadily to just above 2500 by 2010 and ended at approximately 2700 crimes to become the highest number of crimes recorded in 2012. Murder was the lowest overall crime throughout the recorded period with approximately 500 in 2003 and increased to nearly 1000 in 2005. This number remained at around 500 to 700 between 2006 to 2012.
