The line graph illustrates some information about the four different types of ways that people receive news including website, TV, print and social media from 2012 and 2015 in the United States which are measured by percentage.
Overall, the proportion of people that use websites and social media were increasing, on the other hand, the trend for TV and print were declining. Moreover, the difference between TV and websites were close to each other, however the social media and print categories had less differences. In addition there was some fluctuation during this period.
The lowest proportion was for social media in 2012 by 20 %, but, the rate for print was two times more was about 40% then in 2013 both of them experienced 10 percent rises that reached 30 and 50 respectively in 2013. Social media had a slight decrease until 2014 was just over 30 %, although there was a sharp decrease for the print group that reached almost 25% in 2015after. In contrast to print, social media had significant growth and reached over 40 percent.
The biggest share that individuals used in 2012 belonged to websites by 70 %. That TV range was a little less which was about 75% and both of them by marginal increase reached 80 and 78 respectively in 2013. Since 2013 websites rate had been consistently rising and eventually in 2015 reached to more than 80 %, while the consumption of TV experienced a slight decline and finally reached below initial level which was about 72 % in 2015.
