Overall, the mobile phone usage followed an upward pattern, while a relatively stable trend was experienced by fixed-line telephones. Starting from 2001, the percentage of the people using mobile phones became considerably higher than the proportion of the fixed line telephones.
To begin, the proportion of the mobile phone users stood at 0.06 in 1994, increased steadily and reached approximately 1 percent in 1999. Then, a sharp incline observed in the figure for the rest of the period and peaked at 8.8 in 2004.
With regard to the fixed line telephone usage, started with 1.7 percent and followed a slight growth until 1999, which reached about 2.6 %. The proportion of the individuals saw moderate fluctuations for the rest of the period and hit the peak of 3.1 in 2004.
