Overall, Nigeria experienced a surge in online shopping followed by Brazil. The UK and Japan saw moderate increase in online shopping, retaining the top position in the ten year period.
Nigeria saw an exponential growth in numbers for online shopping going from only 8% in 2015 to 55% in 2025. Brazil saw a modest increase in people who shopped online, 28% in 2015, experiencing a surge from 2018 to 2021 (38% to 52%) a 14 percentage point jump, and finally settling at 68% in 2025, a 16 percent point increase.
The UK continues to hold the top position at 82% of people who shop online, followed by Japan with 70%, in the year 2025. The UK experienced moderate rise in online shopping. Japan saw 5 percentage point increments in their population.
Japan was the only country occupying the middle position, while Nigeria saw the greatest inflation starting only at 8% going all the way up to 55%, an incremental change of more than half the jump.
